SUBSCRIBER HELP AND SERVICES:
Frequently Asked Questions
about Individual Non-Member Subscriptions

  1. Will I receive a password? May I share my password with friends, or is use limited solely to me?

Yes, when you activate your subscription, you will create a user name and a password. You are the only one licensed to use this password.

  2. What if I forget my password?

Details about how to obtain your password will be included as part of the subscription activation process.

  3. Why should I get an Individual Non-Member subscription?

Individual Non-Member Subscribers have access to:
Tables of contents, abstracts, full text searching, full text display, document delivery, PDFs, links to Medline and GenBank, future tables of contents, and the advantage of having password access to CEB&P Online from any computer connected to the Internet.

  4. How can I tell if my institution has subscribed? How do I get my institution to subscribe?

If your institution subscribes to the print version of Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention, it is entitled to access to the online version of the journal. However, your librarian must activate the online subscription before it can be used. If you explore CEB&P Online from an activated, eligible machine at your institution, you will automatically have access to the tables of contents, abstracts, full-text searching, full text display, PDFs, Medline and GenBank links, and future tables of contents. You will also see a button at the top of the page confirming that you are signed in as part of an institution.

If your institution does not have a print subscription, it cannot receive the online version of Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention. If you would like to have an institutional subscription, please contact your local librarian.

  5. Will I still be able to get the print version? And for how long?

Yes, individuals and institutions will continue to be able to receive the print version for the foreseeable future. At some time, the print and electronic versions may be available as separate subscriptions.

  6. Who is eligible for an Individual Non-Member and a Member Subscription?

Individual Non-Member subscriptions are available to individuals, providing them with a print and electronic version of the journal. AACR Members are eligible for Member Subscriptions to CEB&P, providing them with a paper and electronic version of the journal. Members and Non-Members may also have access to CEB&P Online through an Institutional Subscription. Institutional Subscriptions are somewhat more limited than Member Subscriptions. For example, full-text access from beyond the institution's network (e.g., home access) is only available if the institution has purchased a site license.

  7. How can I access CEB&P Online if I am not an AACR member and I don't have access through an institutional subscription?

You may wish to apply for AACR Membership or you may wish to purchase an Individual Non-Member print subscription which provides access to the online version. Without a subscription you have access to Tables of contents, abstracts, and full text searching (without full text viewing) at no cost and without having to register. In addition, temporary access to certain article(s) can be obtained through pay-per-view.

  8. How do I become a member of AACR? Information about Membership and application forms are available from the AACR Website or by contacting the AACR Member Services Department (see below).
